Don Lorenzo's Mexican Restaurant in Allegany closed April 16 after federal officials arrested the establishment's owner and 10 of his restaurant managers for hiring illegal Mexican immigrants to staff restaurants while offering poor pay and housing, federal officials said.

SBU nears registrar decision

Brian Penepent wasn't sure he wanted to attend college, but after volunteering at BonaResponds' local service weekend last Saturday and Sunday, the 17-year-old Iroquois High School junior was all but convinced.

"It definitely persuaded me to come to college," Penepent said of the 12-hour volunteer effort that drew students and community members to nine different sites last weekend.

COR's final plans remain unknown
