Big-name chain comes to small-town shopping mall

The Olean Center Mall will house a Steve and Barry's retail store by November. Steve and Barry's is most noted for carrying T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts bearing college logos and for selling apparel for under $20, Andrew Gildin, a spokesman for Steve and Barry's, said.

Origin and control over $20,000

Student life officials have recently renamed a budget allocation of $20,000 to SGA from a group that no longer exists. Roger Keener, interim vice president for student life, said nobody discovered any funds, but that money under the name of the Reilly Recreation Center was simply given a new name.

University implements emergency text-messaging service

More than 500 students, faculty and staff members at St. Bonaventure University have signed up for the e2Campus emergency text messaging and e-mail system as of Tuesday. The system provides a way for the university to alert students, faculty and staff of an emergency.

Board of trustees welcomes eight new members

St. Bonaventure University welcomed eight new trustees to its board in September. The eight new trustees are: Colette Dow, Robert Daugherty, Timothy Finan, Kathryn Lauterbach, Eugene O'Connor, James Meyer, Mary Meehan and Vince Volpe Jr. They were given an orientation at the 2007-'08 academic year organization board meeting.

SBU students fail to register bikes

As students make their way to classes this semester, chances are they'll encounter more than a few bikes along the way. Although there are no definite answers as to why the number of bikes seems to have increased this semester, Joe Becker, director of Security Services, has a few guesses.
