After Tuesday night's one-point loss to St. John's in Rochester, the men's basketball team returned to the Reilly Center Friday, defeating the depleted Binghamton Bearcats, 66-40. Jonathan Hall paced the Bonnies with 12 points, including the five he scored during the Bonnies' 17-4 run to end the half.
When the athletic department scheduled this game eight months ago, there was hope for a quality matchup. And for good reason considering the success of both squads in 2008. The St. Bonaventure men's basketball team is coming off its best season in years, a 15-15 record with a berth in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.
Bonnies starters each played less than ten minutes of the second half, but the team's bench relief closed out the Binghamton Bearcats 66-40. Forward Marquise Simmons and guards Michael Davenport and Demitrius Conger played significant minutes for the Bonnies at 11, 16 and 14 respectively.
