The St. Bonaventure ice hockey team struggled on the road this past weekend, losing to Binghamton University, 11-3, on Friday and to the University of Rochester, 6-4, on Saturday. The losses bring the Bonnies' overall record on the season to 1-6-0-1 and league record to 1-5-0-1.

SBU's run ends season of the decade

The most successful men's soccer season since 1999 ended last Friday night in Kingston, R.I. after a 3-1 loss to No. 1 seed Dayton in an Atlantic 10 semifinal. The Bonnies finished the season 10-9 overall (5-4 A-10) and earned the No. 6 seed in the A-10 Championships, their first appearance since 1999.

From 1977-1981, Kathy Lynch brought the scoring, defense and leadership needed to help carry an upstart women's basketball team out from Title IX's long shadow. Her career blazed a trail for Bonaventure women's athletics, earning her the first female spot in the university's athletic hall of fame in 1991.

Bonnies sign guard Carter

Wednesday, the men's basketball team announced the signing of Elijah Carter to a National Letter of Intent on the final day of the early signing period. A 6-foot-2-inch guard from Paterson, N.J., Carter is entering his senior season at Saint Anthony's High School and will join the Bonnies for the 2010-11 season.
