Allegany Police arrested Curtis Middlebrooks, Student Government Association president, and charged him with disorderly conduct Sunday.Police responded to a call at 12:15 a.m. for a fight at The Other Place bar on 91 West Main St., Allegany, according to Allegany Police Chief Dominic Papasergi.

"He shoved the bouncer, threw his fists and punched a screen door," Papasergi said. "We don't know at this point if any assault charges were filed."

Managers at the Other Place bar could not be reached for comment.

Middlebrooks, a 20-year-old junior, is due in court May 8.

"At this point and time these are only allegations," Middlebrooks wrote in an e-mail. "I have been instructed not to go into further details about the event in question until after my appearance in court. At that point, I will be more than willing to answer any questions you may have as they pertain to the event in question."

Middlebrooks was elected to a second term as SGA president this March and began his term April 1.
